It is not obvious how others could vote on this as described. It would some mac issues (how serious are they?) but at what cost generally? Is the intention to replace the parts of OpenCV that PL uses with something else (if it's a large library, PL is probably not using all of it)

Is this proposal more of an internal consideration and not something that other users could/should be expected to have an informed view on? Would it be helpful to clarify that? (Just asking)
